BRITISH NAVY APPOINTMENTS
SEVERAL CHANGES ANNOUNCED.
< British Wireless. Rec. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, Dec. I. The appointment has been approved of Admiral Sir Arthur Waistell to succeed Admiral of the Fleet Sir Roger Key«e*as commander in charge of Portsmouth, to date from May 8 next. Rear-Admiral Tomkinson has been appointed rear-admiral commanding the battle cruiser squadron in succession to Vicd-Admiral pound, and Rear-Admiral Astley Rushton has been appointed rear-admiral commanding the second cruiser squadron in succession to RearUniiral Best, both to date from the end of April next. . Other appointments announced include Rear-Admiral Reinold, who has been appointed admiral-superintendent of the Devonport dockyards; Rear-Ad-miral James to be rear-admiral in charge and admiral-superintendent at Gibraltar; Rear-Admiral Im Thum to be assistant chief of the naval stall, and Rear-Admiral Noble to be director oi naval equipment. :
