FUNCTIONS AT NEW PLYMOUTH.

COMMITTEE’S MONTHLY MEETING,

The executive committee of the New Plymouth Victoria League ‘held its' monthly meeting on Monday, Mrs. C. H. Burgess presiding. The ’house committee reported that two very successful floral teas had. beeO' held during the month. On November 7 the hostess was Mrs. Patrick. On November 21, -Baby Day, the proceeds were njven to the Plunkct Society. A musical programme was arranged by Mrs. Brodie and a flower and “all sorts” stall helped to increase flic receipts. The play-reading circle gave a public reading of Sutton. Vane’s “Outward Bound” on November 13 in aid of the Plunket Society. ■ The Whakarato (girls) branch reported having had a most enjoyable evenin" at Scotlands when members of the branch and High School girls'.contributed musical items Mrs. Franklyn-White, who leaves for England in February, has consented to aefas delegate from New Plymouth at the London meeting of the league in The fmul floral tea for the season will be held on Friday when Mesdaines \\. H. Skinner and H. Lepper will be hostesses at a Christmas afternoon. The president of the league will be the guest of honour. Miss Sole was elected deputy-president for December. Two new members were elected.
