MEAT STRIKE CONTINUES
DANGER OF FURTHER SPREAD.
DEREGISTRATION APPLIED EOR.

Supplies of chilled and frozen mutton are being drawn upon in the metropolitan area. Consumers are not over-partial to frozen meat and are accordingly making extensive purchases of fish and tinned products. - There is a danger of the strike extending' to other Stpt-es in the event of attempts being made to bring fresh meat supplies therefrom. It is untlerstvod some such are now on the way. Judge Piddington has fixed on Tuesday for the hearing of the carcase butchers’ application for the deregistration of the Meat Employees’ Union for dis■tfbediepce of the award provisions.
