OIL FLOWING STEADILY

MOTUROA OILFIELDS BORE! i

400 GALLONS DURING PAST WEEK

4200 GALLONS IN THREE WEK6.

Oil continues to make a steady appearance in Aloturoa Oilfields, Ltd.’s, No. 1 well. During the week ending last Saturday the well was drilled to 3220 ft in sandy shale, 100 gallons of oil being baled out during drilling operations. The well also flowed 300 gallons from the 2300 ft horizon. The company proposes drilling to 3330 ft before testing again. Since the blow-out on the night of Sunday three weeks ago the well has produced 100 barrels of oil, equivalent to about 3GOO Imperial gallons. Commensing on the position yesterday the managing director (Mr. C. N. Taylor) said that when it was considered that all the oil had been obtained during the progress of the drilling, and only a few days had been set aside for actual testing, the results could be considered very satisfactory.
