CREW MARCHES OFF SHIP

THEIR IMMEDIATE REPLACEMENT. TROUBLE ON NAVAL TANKER. By Telegraph.—Press Association. ' Auckland, Nov. 17. The crew of the Nucula, the navy chartered oil tanker, walked off the ship this morning as a. further protest, against the reduction in the manning scale. They were immediately ordered to remove their gear and were replaced by 20 men from the naval training ship Philomel. Commander Clover remarked that he understood that the men were unwilling to leave the ship but had been ordered by the Seamen’s Onion. “Wo cannot allow a naval vessel to be held up by an industrial union,” he said. The Nucula. sailed for Nukuhiva and thence to Los Angeles.
