GENERAL’S STATUS NOT CHANGED
RETIRING AGE FIXED AT SEVENTY

After two days’ secret discussion'the Salvation Army Commissioners decided, ? by 23 votes to 19, not to alter the present status of the General, which therefore remains autocratic, as when Generals William and Brain-well Booth held the office. > It was also decided that the General shall retire at 70. Thus General Higgins has three years to serve.
