SETTING ASIDE AWARDS
N.S-W. WITHDRAWS ACTION AUSTRALIAN RAILWAY WAGES REDUCTION IN THE SOUTH 3000 EMPLOYEES AFFECTED By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Sydney, Nov. 6. It is announced on behalf of the Premier, Mr. J. T. Lang, that the State Ministry has decided to instruct the New S,outh Wales railway commissioners to withdraw from any legal action in the direction of having the federal railway awards set aside in the lull Court.' The Arbitration Court recently granted the application of the railway commissioners of the four States for setting aside the awards of the various railway unions. Advice has been received that the Labour Government of South Australia has reduced the wages of 3000 railwaymen in accordance with the decisions of the Federal Arbitration Court to set aside the awards.
The New South Wales railway commissioners have assented to Mr. Lang s instruction.
