BOOKSTALL ON RAILWAY
CONTROL BY THE GOVERNMENT. DECISION. AT AUCKLAND. By Telegraph.—Brees Association. Auckland, Last Night. The Railway Department's decision ti control and manage the bookstall in the pew railway station instead of leasing it to a private bookseller and stationer is viewed with disfavour by the council of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, which made an ejnphatic protest to-day. The resolution, which is ■being forwarded to the ■ Government, states “that in face of the Minister’s emphatic assurance of the Government’s intention to curtail rather than add to ritate- activities in competition wih private enterprise the council finds difficulty in reconciling the decision of the department to undertake the conduct of the boksfiall business. • • ■
