NEW ZEALAND CROPS
ESTIMATION OF THE AREAS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Following are the estimated areas under wheat, oats, barley and potatoes (season 1930-31) in New Zealand, according to a return contained in tonight’s Gazette-Wheat, 243,000 acres (>South Island 239,000, North Island 3700); oats, 322,000 acres (South Island 305,500, North Island 16,500); barley, 25,250 acres (South Island 23,350, North Island 1900); potatoes, 24,000 acres (South Island 19,600,\ North Island 4400).
The totals last year were:—Wheat, 238,653 acres; oats, 282,814 acres; barley, 18,63'1 acres; Potatoes, 23,214 acres.
