PRINCE APPEALS FOR LEAGUE
REMARKABLE LpNDON BANQUET.
‘•'ARMAMENT QUESTION SOLVED.”
By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Rec. 10.30 p.m. London, Oct. 31. Ono thousand guests attended the League of Nations banquet at the Guildhall to meet the Prince of Wales. It was olio of the most remarkable gatherings of the season, representing, as the Prince of Wales said, one-quarter of the human race, who had solved the question under th.o British Crown of disarmament and wanted the lest of the world to follow their example. Messrs Brennan, Moloney, Forbes and Sir Thomas Sidey and their wives represented Australia and New Zealand. Lord Robert Cecil presided and expressed regret at the absence from the chair of Lord Grey, who was suffering from renewed eyesight trouble. The Prince made a telling appeal on behalf of the propaganda of the League of Nations. He described it as a crusade on behalf of world peace, which was the greatest crusade of them all. An immediate response to the appeal was a gift of £5OOO from Sir Louis Baron.
