AUCKLAND’S NOMINATIONS.
OBJECTION TO THE METHODS.

'' Auckland, Oct. 31.
The Auckland Trades and Labour Council decided to support Mr. F. S. Cornwall (Wellington) and Mr. G. Thurston (Christchurch) as nomineesfor the workers’ on the Employment Board. The cmuncil strongly condemned the method ’of election. Mr. Purtell, secretary, said that there was certain to be a storm if someone was ’ appointed against the wishes of trade unionists.
DUNEDIN R.S.A. NOMINATION.
Dunedin, Oct. 31.
’ A well-attended meeting of returned men decided unanimously to recommend Mr. John McCrae as the representative of the association on the Unemployment Board. Mr. McCrae had lengthy service in Africa and France and served for some years on the executive of the Dunedin association and was president "for a term. Mr. McCrae said the ai-fn of the boai'd should be to endeavour provide work of a developmental nature and not to established anything in the shape of a permanent dole system.
WELLINGTON NAMES SUBMITTED.
Wellington, Last Night.
(By an overwhelming majority a meeting of ex-servicemen called by the Wellington Returned Soldiers’ Association decided to nominate Colonel G. T. Hall for the position of returned soldiers’ representative on the Unemployment Board.
Messrs T. L. Barker (president) and P. O'Rorke were nominated to the Unemployment Board by the Wellington Builders’ and General Labourers’ Union at a meeting to-night.
