LEAGUE CYCLE CLUB’S CONTEST.

ARRANGEMENTS FOR SATURDAY.

Arrangements for the Mountain Road ’•Race on Saturday and the sport at- the racecourse were made .at a-meeting rof the League Cycle Club in New Plymouth last night. ' • Most parts of New' Zealand are' represented in the race. The riders .include H. G.-Watson (,Christchurch), New Zealand road champion 1929 and- 1930, W. T. Weir (Chrietchurch). Australian record -holder on the track, W. > T . Lamberton, Dawson, O’Reilly, and Bearman, all of Christchurch, D. Do.wman (Taumarunui), who recently gained .first and fastest time- in the Cambridge-P.apa-kura road race, and W. Pratney, who gained second place in the same race. Flying Officer Keith will give a; .special: display of bombing and: stunting during the afternoon. Horse-jumping-events are to take place,-, and some veiy fine performances . should make -the events interesting. Mr. Ben. Tippins has donated a cup for the ladies competition and cups will be given tor the open and maiden jumps. The athletic events, the Graham crosscountry race and the New Flymouth Boys’ High School mile run, have drawn good entries.
