An enjoyable dance and social eyenino' was arranged-by the employees of / Gibson’s Motors, Ltd., to welcome?,|iqm<? Mr R. Gibson, son of Mr. G. Gibson, wjas held in the Mon Desir tea rooms; last night. ' '■ '■ ?‘ ■Mr. Gibson, who was sixth engineer ..of the liner Hertford, left the vessel when it arrived at New Plymouth for the purpost of pursuing his studies. He ? left New Plymouth about four years- ago, and during the past two years Jias, on the Hertford. , . . .1 .vi-r •; During the evening dancing was enjoyed to music by George’s Orchestra. Items by the following were interspersed amongst the dances:. Miss Haywood (songs),' Mr. J. Jbll (recitation); Mr. R. Gqbr fT e (steel' guitar v solo) : and: Mr. 8.Stewart (song).
