A Corsican, Francois Federiei, was sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment for killing his 18-year-old sweetheart who 'left him for another man. , Federiei followed her to a 1 onion dance hall and asked for a last dance. While embracing her he drew a revolver and fired into her body twice. The dancers heard the shots, _ but, as Federiei continued to hold the girl tightly, they did not realise that it was murder. When he let the body fall the crime was discovered. Federiei tried to cover his escape with Jus revolver but was overpowered.
