The work will give a big impetus to the Steel trade in North England. The bridge will be two and a-quarter miles long° thus being the second longest in the° world, one in India being 100 ft longer. •/ The bridge is being built by tire British and Portuguese Governments and becomes Portuguese property at the end of 100 years.
