The New Zealand Eclipse Expedition, under the leadership of Dr.’ AdattiSj is busily preparing for the observation of the phenomenon on October 22. The instruments have been erupted and tested, and drills in the form, of rehearsals , of the processes of observation bgmg held.' ■■ • - > , Fourteen telescopes have been erected on the island by the American party, including one with a 65ft. focus, wfiicli points directly at the sun. Last week light showers, fell, but the weather is now warmer. 411, lumbers of the party are well and are finding much of interest on the island. Inc volcanic cone measures five mnes 111 diameter, with a lake in the centre of the crater three-miles in diameter. New Zealand time signals ' are being received by the expedition.
