AUSTRALIA SEEKS SIMPSON.
■EMPIRE GAMES TEAM RETURNS.

Rec. 7.50 p.m. Sydney, Oct. 2. The Australian team which competed at tho Empire games reached Sydney to-day. The manager, Mr. Weir, paid a tribute to the Aorangi’s gymnasium which enabled the athletes on board to keep absolutely fit. An attempt would bo made, Mr. Weir said, to induce the United States runner Simpson, who would be visiting NewZealand, to come to Australia. Simpson was -willing 1 provided the-New. Zealand association gave its consent. Air. Weir' added that Simpson was the finest 2-’* man in the world to-day.
