CRUISER TEN HOURS ADRIFT

During aii exceptionally, severe-gale off the east coast of Britain the old cruiser Conquest, -tfhich was in tew for Fife to bo scrapped, broke adrift, and tlie tug ’which had her in- charge signalled all shipping to keep a strict look-out for the vessel, which was drifting 25 miles south of Flamborough. Tho tug’s message stated,, that ‘tjiere were six men aboard the cruiser, which, being Out of control, was.dangerous*to navigation. The . tug’s efforts to take the cruiser in tow again* were , unsuccessful owing .to-the weather. After being ten hours adrift the cruiser was picked up by a Hull tug and towed into th© Humber.
