WELLINGTON SWIMMERS
GOOD PERFORMANCES IN EGYPT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. At the Egyptian swimming championships, held at Heliopolis on August 9 and 10, two former Wellingtonians, now stationed at No. 4 Flying Training School of fho Royal Air Force at Abu Sueir, were prominent. Squadron-Leader Carr, a Wellington College old boy, was second in 100 metres and third in the 440, and Flying-Officer Ulic Shannon was second in the 440 after a great race w;tn Flying-Officer King, a former English Service champion. The aggregate unit cup, one of the most sought after trophies in Egypt, was won by the Abu Sueir team, which included Shannon and Carr.
