A London cable reports the death of Dr. Arthur S. Way, the English scholar. He was a famoute translator of classical authors. A London cable states that an estate valued at £235,838 was left by Mr. Rhodes Hawtyn Cobb, formerly senior partner in the firm of Anning and Cobb, Australian and New Zealand produce merchants. Mr. R. M. Hardy, of the New Plymouth staff of the Farmers’ Co-op. Organisation Society of New Zealand, Ltd., has been transferred to Inglewood as manager of the society’s branch in that town and takes up his new duties next week. Messrs. Hapi Love Wi Taki, of Petone; Wi Kupe Raungaiti, of Pungarehu; Rangihuna Piro, of Okaiawa; Tipi to Maruera, of Patea; and Jlema Wakarua, of Waitotara, have been appointed members of the Taranaki Maori Trust Board. Mr. Richard White, touring representative for J. C. Williamson, Ltd., arrived at New Plymouth last night to make the necessary arrangements for their season at the Opera House next Saturday, when the musical comedy “Hold Everything” will be staged..
