There were present Mr. J. S. S. Medley (chairman)/Misses M. Cliff and B. Barras, Drs. P. C. Davie and G. H. Thomson, Messrs. S. A. Black, G. H. Weir, J. King, W.- Reed, C. Deem and N. J. Webster (secretary). Ari outline of the agreement between the sportsgrourid cbnimittee arid the club regarding the new lighting system was given by Dr. Thompson. A deputation had met the sportsground committee, he. said, and an agreement that seemed to give satisfaction had been prepared. The club would thus put in the lights, control and maintain them and charge for the use of them. Once the agreement was signed the work could be started immediately. The matter had been amicably settled. It w as agreed to have a further clause inserted in the agreement to the effect that the light installation should remain for a .period of six years, except by the consent of both parties. It was resolved that two members of the committee go into the matter of having the ground marked with power to act. The club captain, Mr. Black and the vice-captain, Miss Barras, were appointed to draw up programmes’. Mr. Black moved that the WanganuiTaranaki championships be applied for this year. The resolution was lost by four votes to five and on the motion of Dr. Thompson it was resolved that the matter, be brought up at the next meeting. A committee consisting of Messrs. Black and King was deputed to obtain particulars of the cost of the construction of a shed at the back of the pavilion. Tht ladies’ subscription was fixed at 2s (Id per annum. The season is to open with a trainiim run on November 4 and the official opening will be on November 11.
