THREE NOMINATIONS RECEIVED. TWO OTHERS BELIEVED LATE. By TeleEraph.-—Preßs Association. Wellington, Sept. 25. The nominations of candidates for the Western Maori by-eleCtion, which will take place on October 8, closed at noon yesterday. They are:— Pei Te Huruiiui Jones (Young Maori Party), Auckland. Haami Tokotiru Ratana (Ratana Party), Ratana. Wanganui. Tait© Te Tomo (Reform Party), Halcombe.
It is understood that two other aspirants for the election telegraphed to the returning officer announcing their urtention of going to the poll, but, as the. nominations did not come to hand at the prescribed time, they were excluded.
