BREACH OF LIQUOR LAWS
LATE HOCKEY SUPPER IN LOUNGE. TEMPERANCE UNION OFFICIAL. By Telegraph.—Press Association. ■ Christchurch, Sept. 11. As a sequel to a late supper held by hockey players in the Oriental Lounge, Manchester Street, on a recent Saturday evening, the proprietress, Mary Vincent, a vice-president of the Temperance Union, was charged with allowing liquor to be consumed in the restaurant after hours. Defendant was fined 20s and costs. The magistrate said that 1 she wag probably ignorant of the law.
