THEFT OF DUKE’S PHOTO
(MB. ABOHM RECEIVES AHOSHBB. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. During last year the house of the Mayor, the Rev. J. K. Archer, was robbed. and thieves set fire to it. One of his’prized possessions which the thieves took was a signed portrait of the Duke .of York. The Mayor has lately received from Mr. P. K. Hodgson, private secretary to the Duke of York, a letter expressing the Duke’s sympathy, also a fresh portrait autographed and framed in leather.
