FITZROY SCHOOL
MONTHLY COMMITTEE MEETING. A meeting of the Fitzroy school committee was held on Wednesday evening. Present: Air. J. A. Burr (chairman), Messrs. H. Hall, A. S. Hunter, R. J. Kibby, Al. J. O’Donnell and S. J. Quickfall. Messrs. G. A. Lyall (headmaster) and E. Armitage (secretary) also attended. 1 Scoutmaster Milne submitted a request from the Dominion Commissioner for training for the services of Patrolleader Steptoe to assist the West End scoutmaster in instructing his . troop. He had agreed to the request, and Mr. Steptoe had no objection to his son assisting the West End troop for a time if the committee would sanction it. It was resolved that the action of Scout--master Milne in lending Patrol-leader Steptoe to the West End troop for a limited period be approved. The average attendance at the school for the term was reported as 480.5. If a somewhat higher average was maintained for the next term the school would reach grade 7. It was resolved that the headmaster bo congratulated on the very creditable performance of the children .at the primary schools concert during Music Week. Messrs. Hunter and Kibby were appointed a visiting committee for September. A vote of sympathy was passed with Airs. Ha kins and family in their bereavement.
