NEW GERMAN GAS MASKS
PROTECTION IN “BOMBARDMENT.” By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Rec. 12.30 a.m. London, August 20. The News-Chronicle’s correspondent at Berlin says German chemists declare themselves satisfied with the lessons learnt in a three hours’ "gas bombardment” of the suburb of Kaiserslauten, Bavaria, directed by two well-known professors. Poisonous gases of the deadliest kind were used, but a new type of gas mask is said to have completely protected firemen arid policemen who “defended” the locality.
