FOUND WITH THROAT CUT
MAN WHO LOST £BOO ON SHIP. By Telearaph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Sydney, Aug. 22. 11. Ballantyne was found dead in the bathroom of a city residential flat with his throat cut. A message of August 19 said that H Ballantyne, a third-class passenger - on the Maunganui, reported the loss of £BOO during the voyage between Wellington and Sydney. Detectives boarded the vessel immediately she entered the harbour and questioned two men, who have been detained. Ballantyne is a quarryman of the Napier district, New Zealand. He told the detectives that the money represented his life’s savipgs. He also lost two swags. The police are of opinion that Ballantyne was drugged before he joined the Maunganui, as his fellow passengers say he was in a condition of stupor for three days after embarkation.
