Bnrmcster, Stratford, has returned from Auckland. •# ft ft ft Miss Nyla Walker was hostess at a most enjoyable children’s party at her home on the Rugby Road, in honour of the fourth birthday of her sister Noni. The afternoon was spent iu playingvarious games until tea, which was set out on a long table on the lawn. The table was decorated with violets and violet-tinted serviettes. Mrs. Walker (in a navy crepe-do-chine frock) helped to wait on the children. Miss Nyla wore a fawn jumper suit and Noni wore a pretty little green silk. * The Stratford Football Club’s ball was held in the Town Hall on Thursday evening and proved an even greater success than in the past. Two hundred couples were present, and these included many visitors from all parts of Taranaki. McNeill’s Orchestra supplied popular music and delightful extras were supplied by a trio consisting of Messrs Thompson, Joyes and Sanderson. The supper arrangements .were in charge of Mrs. W. H. H.
