WAIKATO DAIRY PAYMENTS

COURSE OF THE BUTTER MARKET COMPARATIVE CHEESE RETURNS. A statement of the amounts paid out to suppliers by the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., during the past season affords a very interesting and significant survey of the course followed by the dairy produce market at Home from June of last year to May of this year. In June, July and August the advance payment was Is Gd per. lb. outter-fat for but-ter-making, but in September the market began to decline. The succeeding payments were: September, Is 5Jd, October, ].s sd; November, Is 3|d; December, Is 2Jd; January, Is Ijd; February, Is OM; March, IOJd; April and May, lljd.

When the bonus was added at the end of the .season it was found that the average payment for the whole twelve months was Is 4.292 d, or a fraction more than Is 41d.

The payments to suppliers of butterfat to the cheese factories operated by the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company are also interesting to Taranaki dairy farmers.. The payments per lb. butter-fat for the whole season work out as follows: Huiroa Road factory, Is 6.705 d; Kopuarahi, Is 6.691 d; Puninga, Is 6.603 d; Hairini, Is 6.507 d; Wharepoa, Is 6.394d;-. Eureka, Is 6.289 d; Orini, Is 8.281dj Rukuhia, Is 6.244<1; Waitakaruru, Is 6.23 Gd; Hikutaia, Is 6.230 d; Aka Aka, is 6.158 d; Matamata, Is 6.08 Gd; Matatoki, Is 5.991 d; Gordonton, Is 5.893 d; Ki witahi, Is 5.058dj Manawaru, Is 4.821 d.

It wiß. be noted that at four of r.ho 16 factories the pay-out exceeded Is 64d, three exceeded Is 6:]d, and five others above Is Gd.
