. FINANCES OF RUGBY TOUR. . ABOUT £50,000 IN GATES. Although the actual gate takings from the British team’s tour will not be known until the New Zealand Rugby Union issues an ofiicial statement, it is estimated, on .the basis of attendances, that the ' figure will ■ exceed £50,000. The expenses of the British team have been estimated at £17,000; so allowing another £3OOO for expenses incurred by the New Zealand Rugby Union there will still be a margin of £30,000. In several cases ofiicial figures of attendances have been given, but not the actual takings. An estimate of cash receipts in these instances has, therefore, been necessary. In some centres the stand accommodation has made a difference in the takings. Following is a list of the attendances and takings at the various matches:—
