INVESTMENTS IN AUSTRALIA GENERAL ADVANCE OF STOCK. FEATURE OF LONDON MARKETS. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 9.45 p.m. London, August 12. A feature of the market in investment securities is the recovery of Australian Government stocks. The recovery is attributed to the good harvest in Australia and the effects of the drought in „ the United States. Rises of a quarter to one and a-half were recorded. The Financial Times says the general advance of Australian stocks is due to the growing impression that financial problems are being disentangled. "We all along contended that Sir Otto Niemeyer would not proceed on such a mission unless the Bank of England and he felt reasonably confident that the difficulties j were superable and could be overcome by a combination of experience and economy."
