An open verdict was returned at the inquest this afternoon into the circumstances surrounding the death of Daniel McKeown, farmer, Ngaruawahia, who was found dead with a shotgun beside him on his farm this morning. Elizabeth McVeigh, employed at McKeown’s house, said deceased left home at 6.30 this morning and said he was going to attend to a sick cow. The coroner said there was no evidence to show that deceased had intentionally taken his life..
