A Girl Footman.
The .crowd waiting in the Mall to cce the arrival of the debutantes for their Majesties’ Second Court at Buckingham Palco' experienced two unexpected thrills (says the Daily Mail). Ono of the first cars to draw up in the queue for the palace was driven by a woman chauffeur, Beside her sat a woman “footman” in neat- brown livery. The unusual sight immediately atiraced attention, and people surged round, the car seven and eight deep. Soon after 5 o’clock a magnificently appointed ear, in which sat a debutante in a gown of shimmering oyster satin, drove up and halted. Mounted police rode up and. informed the chauffeur that <?ars could' no.t park until after 0. o’clock.. The car moved slowly, and for -the. next hour the debutante drove. slowly hip. and down the Mali waiting to .take .up her position.
