The final euchre party of the season at Oakura took place this week. The points prizes were won by Airs. L. Brown and Air. T. Smart. ' There was an excellent attendance of players and an enjoyable evening was spent; The school children have kejjt up their interest in the work of the junior Red Cross and . lately the _ boys , completed the making of a first-aid cabinet which makes a most creditable addition to the furniture of the school. Last week a concert was held in the school in which every pupil took some part. The proceeds were devoted to the equipping of the new cabinet. An excellent programme had beeii prepared by Aliss Britten, who carefully trained the children. The programme contained vocal solos, duets and choruses, recitations, monologues and an operetta. The sum realised was short of £1 by only Id. • The school football team is training enthusiastically and hopes to play, teams from other schools shortly. The playground has been much improved by the removal of a row of trees by the road fence.
