FLOOD WATERS SUBSIDE
RESIDENTS GO BACK I'o HOMES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. Flood waters from the Heathcote River had partly subsided to-day and all but a few of the houses left by the residents were in occupation again or were being cleared of mud in preparation for re-occupation. The road to Little River is still closed, being heavily inundated by flood water from Lake Forsyth. It is improbable that this road will be opened before Saturday. Under brilliant sunshine to-day all the flooded lands dried rapidly.
