AWAKINO NEWS
(From Our Own Correspondent.) At the week-end the competition for the golf cup (handicap) was commenced, two nine-hole rounds being played. The weather was more favourable than on the previous dayo and some good cards were handed in. Afternoon tea was provided by Mrs. Terrill and Miss Birdie Terrill. After the final rounds, which will be played next week-end, the trophic; will be presented. Mrs. Mcßean has been staying with Mrs. Keith Black. Mrs. W. Black is spending a few weeks in Now Plymouth. Mrs. Halcombe (New Plymouth) is spending a few weeks with Mrs. Dixon. Mr. Lambie (New Plymouth) spent a few days in Awakino. Miss Guthrie (Napier) spent the week-end in Awakino. Miss Noonan, who has been staying with Airs. Westfield, has left tor Wan" ganui.
