INCIDENCE IN TARANAKI. , The statistics of infectious disease® for tho Taranaki health district show increases, in most cases, over the. figures for the previous month. Pneumonia cases showed an increase of 15 over the previous month, but this was expected with tlie mid-winter. One case of gnterie fever war* reported but it is believed tho infection was not contracted in Taranaki. Details are:-— 1 Scarlet fever 9; increase of 5 on last month; total since commencement of year 69. Diphtheria 12; decrease 5; SG. Enteric fever 1; increase 1; 6. . Tuberculosis (pulmonary) 3; increase 0; 22. . . ■ Influenza (pneumonic) 3; increase 3 J 22. Pneumonia 20: ineren-'p 15: 58. , Erysipelas 1; increase 1; 5. Puerperal fever 1; increase 1; 2. Eclampsia 1; increase 1; 3. Hydatids 1; increase 1; 3. Food poisoning 1; increase 1; 1. Chronic lead poisoning 1; increase The total number of eases _ notified during tho month was 54, the . total number for tho year being 233.
