FAREWELL AT RAHOTU
MB. ASD MBS. MOBGAX LEAVE. Large number of people irom the Rahotu district met on Thursday afternoon in the Rahotu hall to farewell Mr. and Mrs. W. Morgan, who have left the district for Corbett Road, Bell Block. A presentation was made by the settlers. Afternoon tea was provided by a number of ladies.
Mr. and Mi’s. Morgan had resided on the Kahui Road for a long time, said Mr. Walter C. Green, who paid a tribute to their work in the district. Mr. Morgan had been associated with the Rahotu Sports Clubs and the school committee and had taken a great interest in the factory. All were sorry Mr. and Mrs. Morgan were going. Mr. G. Gibbon endorsed the remarks of Mr. Green regarding Mr„ Morgan’s interest in the factory meetings and he was sure he would be missed. The chairman of the school committee, Mr. W. H. Butler, said he was sorry Mr. Morgan was leaving because he was a very good committeeman and the departure of the family w’ould mean a decrease in the school roll. Mr. G. D. Dawson tendered a farewell "on behalf of the Rahotu Athletic Club.
