Mr. E. W. Hancock was a passenger for Wellington yesterday. Messrs. W. A. Brown and 0. Ennis were passengers for Wellington yesterday. Mrs. R. T. Baker left yesterday morning on a visit to her daughter at Wellington. ’ . All the experience of numerous inglesides held in Stratford and district will be brought to bear in making a success of the annual ball of the Taranaki Provincial Scottish Society to be held next Thursday in the Stratford Town Hall. Sait’s orchestra will supply the music. M. McDonald, land agent, Stratford, has a very cheap property on his books. Possession may be had at any tune.. The Eltham Fire ’ Brigade’s old-time dance on Wednesday evening was well attended and a merry evening was spent. . The novelty dances were won as follow: Monte Carlo dances, Mis. Kerr and Mr. Burrell and Mrs. Bluett and Mr. Gernhoefer; .spot waltz, Mrs. Manley and Mr. Haswell; ivaltzing competition, Mr. L. Cooper and Miss N. Sheehy.
