DRIVE FOR USED CLOTHING
NEEDY CASES IN NEW PLYMOUTH At a meeting in New Plymouth of the National Council of Women it was decided that each of the delegates present, representing' most of the women’s societies in New Plymouth—the Plunket Society, Women’s Club, Girl Guidefl, Girlfl’ Friendly Society, .Life-Saving, Y.W.C.A., Trained Nurses’ Association, W.C.T.U., Teachers’ Association, Old Girlfl’ Association, and District Nurse's Association—should approach . their members with a request for clothing for the many unemployed, who are passing through a time of great stress. It is known that there is much distress in , the town and many would like to help to relieve the position. The giving, o clothing and bedding is a very practical way to assist. Mr. George Grey has generously lent - a hall (the old Catholic ’nfant jichool) near the tennis courts in Powderham Street to house the parcels, which may be left at th© Women’s Club or with Mrs. C. II- Weston (hon. secretary), corner of Powderham and Dawson Streets, na soon as conveniently possible.
