MANGAMINGI NEWS
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Mr. John. Granville, who met with such a tragic death, had resided in Mangamingi for about forty years and was highly respected. He was a justice of the peace and for a number of years represented the riding on the Eltham County Council. The funeral, which took place on Sunday, was a very large one, about 30 motor-cars following from the residence over the ridge to the cemetery, where they .were met by a number .from Eltham and surrounding districts. The sympathy of the people of the valley has been extended to Mr. A. Pennington, whose mother died at Eltham last week. Last week there was the heaviest fall of hail and snow ever experienced in the district, the ground being covered to the extent of an inch or more. Some very heavy frosts followed.
