AIRSHIPS FOR OCEAN FLIGHTS
TRANSPORT OVER DISTANCES. BIGGER DIRIGIBLES NEEDED. By Telegraph—Pres; Assn. —Copyright. Montreal, Aug. 4. In an address at . the Canadian Club on Monday night Wing-Commander R. B. B. Colmore said airships of the RIOO type never can compete with present methods of transportation over short distances, but will come into their own when oceans have to be covered. He thought the lesson learned from the flight was that larger airships were required to make commercial ocean flights successful. They would be able to carry more fuel, enabling the dirigible to maintain a uniform speed of 70 knots. RIOQ could not do this.
