NEW PLYMOUTH INCLUDED SCHEDULE COVERS DOMINION. ABBANGEMENTS NEAR FINALITY, ißy Wire —Special to News.) Auckland, Last Night. A company to operate an aeroplane passenger service between Auckland and Wellington and another service between Wellington and Invercargill is in the final stages of development in Auckland, and it is expected that the North. Island service will commence within two months. The company, which will ~b& known as New Zealand Airways Boeing, Ltd., will have headquarters at Wei*. x lington and will be financed entirely by New Zealand capital. Arrangements for the formation of the company and the operation of ths services are in the Hands of Mr. Bernard, factory representative of - Boeing Aircraft of Canada, Ltd., of British Columbia, who is at present in Auckland. He explained that-the company was asking no subsidy from the Government, tlie venture being financed and organised purely by private enterprise. If, however, the Government later required the service to carry mail it •would undertake to do so.

“New Zealand is the most admirably suited country -in the world for the use of flying-boats, and for that reason the company will use such machines solely,” said. Mr. Bernard. “At present there are six Boeing flying-boats ready for. ship-’ ment at Vancouver, pending, the finalising of arrangements here. The machines to be used are a British product manufactured in Canada.”

Starting from Wellington, the North ? Island route will be to New Plymouth, Auckland, GLborne v and. back to Wellington. In the South Island the machines will fly from Wellington to Nelson, Christchurch,. Dunedin and Inver* cargill, coining back by the same route, I- the North Island route stops will bj made at Palmerston North, Wanganui, New Plymouth, Napier and Hastings if required. At the outset it is proposed to make the return trip between Auckland . and Wellington daily and later to make two return trips each day with both freight and passengers. It is hoped to make the trip from Auckland to Wellington in three and threequarter houfs, allowing for 15 minutes’ stop at New Plymouth. The matter of fares has not yet been c filed, but it is proposed that tho charge be about £lO or £l2 I’eturn from Auckland to Wellington. Each passenger will l>e allowed to carry one suitcase with him.
