UNDELIVERED LETTERS
rr.EXCH pillar-box episode. Paris, July 23. A motor-lorry collided with a pillarbox outside the Luxemburg station and strewed letters over the road. It was discovered that some had been posted 25' years ago and never collected. A postcard dated 1905, written by a medical student, made an appointment for the next evening with a lady in the Latin quarter. Another card addressed to a firm. of wine merchants ordered a barrel of wine valued at 33 francs. The same barrel to-day would cost 330 francs. The Post Office is having the letters delivered to the surviving addressees.
