CHILDREN BURIED IN SAND
WALL OF PIT COLLAPSES. THREE KILLED; TEN INJURED. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 10.20 p.m. Loudon, July 31. Children were playing in a sand pit at Saint Helene when thousands of tons of sand fell, killing three and injuring ten. Those rescued were black with partial suffocation. It was explained that children constantly playing “seaside” had undermined the side <of the sand cliff.
