CROSS-COUNTRY RUNNING
CHAMPIONSHIPS<AT WANGANUI. RUN TO HURWORTH TO-MORROW. Advice has been received in New Plymouth that the Wanganui-Taranaki crosscountry championships will be held at Wanganui on August 16, and that to give individual members a chance of ,competing at the New Zealand cross-country championships a centre team will be selected about August 19. Members will be expected to pay their own expenses to the New' Zealand championships, but the centre will provide 'five guineas towards the expenses if a team goes. It is reported that the club championships will probably be held in New Plymouth on August 9, the'date fixed for the next harrier race. There will be an invitation run to Hurworth to-morrow. Runners will leave the house of Mr, Hutchinson, Hori Street, Vogeltown, at 2 p.m. Mesdames Baker and Smith will entertain them at afternoon tea at Hurworth.
