CONSIGNMENT FROM RAROTONGA By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, July 31. Fruit which arrived by the Tahiti two days late from Rarotonga and Papeete was overheated to the condition known in trade circles as “boiled” and , was marketed in a deplorable condition. Some of the bananas were - absolutely unsaleable, and other” were sold at 6d to 13 a case. Oranges in repacking will probably lose 50 per eent. Tomatoes are in the same plight and are selling at 4s to 8s a ease. There is, of course, some of {he cargo in good condition.
