BUSINESS OF ANNUAL MEETING.

The eleventh annual meeting of tlic New Plymouth Astronomical Society was held last evening. Dr. George Home presided over a small attendance. The” balance-sheet showed receipts amounting to £45 7s 3d, including donations £l9 and subscriptions £lO. The expenditure amounted to £l2 5s Id. A credit balance was shown of £35 2s 9d. The chairman referred particularly to the 'departure of Mr. P. W. Glover as second in command of the party sent from New Zealand to Samoa to observe the eclipse of the sun. The Blundell memorial annexe, said the doctor, would be a very fine building and would form a very thorough memorial to the man who was really the founder of the society in New Plymouth.

Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows: —President, Dr. Geo. Home; honorary assistant secretary, Mr. M. Geddes; three members of executive council, Messrs A. G. Johnson, S. Alleman and F. J. Morshead, Mr. J. Palmer was elected a new member of the society.
