Snow has fallen intermittently since Sunday on the slopes of Mt. Egmont and yesterday the mountain presented a very beautiful appearance in the bright sunlight of an ideal spring morning, The snow at North Egmont house was about three inches deep, and it extended half a mile down the track towards the radius line. Some tramp steamers have earned a reputation for an ill-stocked larder. The story is told of one vessel that was no exception.
