VvELLINGTON HARBOUR RESCUES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Two presentations were made on behalf of the Royal Humane Society of New Zealand at to-night’s meeting of the Wellington Harbour Board. L. P. Fox, caretaker of the Miramar wharf, who twice rescued boys who fell off the wharf, was presented with two letters of commendation. In one case Fox heard the alarm and ran to the spot, but was unable to find the boy. On seeing bubbles rising to the surface he dived in fully clothed, and found the boy in 10 feet of water.' Artificial respiration was successful. . In the other case Fox was responsible for the rescue of a boy who fell into 30 feet of water while fishing from the side of the’wharf. Again Fox dived in fully clothed and brought tho boy to the shore. A framed certificate was awarded. W. McGhee, waterside worker, of Hataitai, who brought a man out of the harbour on August 27, after diving into the water fully clothed.
